A journeyman electrician has obtained the necessary experience, knowledge, and training to work independently. Therefore, this affords them the freedom to further advance their expertise in order to qualify for a master electrician license in the future.

These capable tradespeople have a complete comprehension of the National Electrical Code and electrical theory. They work in commercial, industrial, and residential environments. They are qualified to add, install, alter, and repair electrical systems, conductors, and related equipment and materials.

Journeyman electricians work with various system setups, which include the following including:

  • Power and Lighting Systems
  • Building Automation Systems
  • Energy Management Systems
  • Power Distribution and Metering Systems
  • Backup Power Generation Systems
  • Motor Control and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

Education Required

4 year apprenticeship program

Training Required

On-the-job training

To join our team, we are looking for a professional, responsible journeyman electrician, who shows up to work on time and knows the power of a positive attitude and looking sharp. This is a full-time position where working nights is sometimes required, and the majority of travel is to Virginia and the DC Metro Area. Come with a strong work ethic and your own tools. We offer a great hourly rate and benefits after three months. Our office is located in downtown Frederick, MD.
